The Mock Turtle Ball

The lights were dimmed, the candles lit, the guests were at the door,
As twenty sleek mock turtles bold did strut upon the floor,
A band of dodos played a tune, a phoenix sang a song,
And pterodactyls hummed refrain, it really was quite wrong.

Oh, tell me, dear mock turtle folk, who cometh to your ball?
Only wise and clever folk, not idiots, not at all,
We've owls and badgers, stoats and snakes, and foxes smart as rats,
And hedgehogs, roosters, porcupines, and tabby cats in hats.

So leave your worries back at home, come try our Slipperene,
And join the party of the year, the best you've ever seen.

Echoes of Alice

A grand ball thrown by the mock turtles echoes the antics of Alice's Adventures.
